Far away

I’ve been travelling since last Friday in the region of South Australia, many miles away from Broome, visiting camps and several hospitals and covering tremendous miles of distance between places in our II World War Jeep (LOL), with no internet or any kind of technology material.

My journey will continue, this time back to the remote East Kimberley region of Western Australia, were I began my personal adventure.

Tender kisses to all the friends and family back home.

Day to day challenge

The day-to-day battle of a medicine doctor in an underprivileged community is a war that has its reward in the smile of these children.

Jack Dale - Jalala Marking Stones

Jack Dale

Jalala Marking Stones
(Coo-ee Aboriginal Art Gallery)

Jack Dale, A Kimberley History is an exhibition of new ochre works from the King Leopold Ranges and is an artistic snapshot of life in the West Kimberleys since the 1920s.

Jack paints his memories of working bullock teams, Afghan camel traders, life in the stock camps, Aboriginal incarceration, and most of all his detailed knowledge of Ngarinyin Dreaming sites of the Wandjina spirit. As perhaps the last custodian of all the Wandjina Spirits residing in the Imanji region, Jack is fiercely proud and knowledgeable about the regions lore and history and this is self-evident in his spare, yet powerful paintings of the Wandjina Spirits and their country.

Jack Dale, Wandjinas at Iondra, natural ochre on canvas, 90 x 76cm.
